Polyurethane submarine cable protection tube is a submarine cable protection system designed and developed to protect subsea: fiber optic cables, power cables, umbilicals, flexible flowlines, rigid flowlines, hoses and bundled products from abrasion and impact. Submarine cable protection system can also be used to add ballast to cables and flowlines and  reduce the risk of dropped object damage.

Design features

•The Submarine cable and pipeline protection is designed to be safe to handle and fast to install. 

•The design features overlapping and interlocking half shells to provide a close fitting protection around the pipeline, whilst also ensuring alignment during installation. Cable and flowline crossing protection can be manufactured from marine grade PU materials in lengths of up to 1-2 metres. 

•The Polyurethane submarine cable protection tube system is secured using either corrosion resistant alloy strapping, placed in recesses on the product during installation. These recesses ensure an even spacing of the strapping along the pipeline without measuring along with a smooth consistent outer diameter. 

•Cable and flowline protection system abrasion protection provides a cost-effective solution where cable entry to a platform is not possible via existing ‘J’ or ‘I’ tubes.

•Submarine cable protection duct can be configured to achieve neutral or positive buoyancy, allowing cables to cross subsea ravines, gorges, canyons, or trenches—rather than navigating around them—no matter the depth.
